Jon Stewart – The Only Man Who Actually Understands Canadian Politics
On last night’s episode of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Jon got right into our parliamentary issue with his first topic of the night.
Finally, Canada is relevant again. (for good reason or bad)
It’s amazing how many important points are actually hit on with this segment. Jon manages to talk about issues I planned to write about over the next two weeks. Comically, he mentions Prime Minister Harper’s (bowl-shaped, perfect) hair, one of the great mysteries of our time. “What kind of magical creatures hair doesn’t get messed up, IN A HAIL STORM?”. Thank you Jon, I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Most importantly however, he breaks open an issue that I’m surprised no one seems to be talking about. Queen Elizabeth, and her unelected representative Michaelle Jean, often thought of as “figure-heads”, still around for tradition, actually have AUTHORITY! The insanity of this, well that’s for another post.
In the meantime, enjoy Stewart’s take on the current situation on Canada. If you have no idea what’s going on, well this is a great place to start.
Oh, and keep an ear open for the jab at Dion.
